Witches' Spirit Bag

In our Witches’ Tradition we carry, what is called a “Spirit Bag,” it is a small bag containing tools of magick as well as small portions of incense and potion blends. This very ancient tool, which is similar to the “GriGri” of the Voodoo and the “Mojo Bag” of the Hoodoo Traditions, allows the practitioner to work magick as well as create a small place of prayer to a specific Goddess or God.  It is best and recommended that all the items be made of natural substances, and a have a representation of each of the Four Elements or “Powers.”  Anyone can create a “Spirit Bag.”  Following is a list of items you may want to include, these are just examples, it is up to the individual practitioner to place in the bag what they desire. Remember to make sure all of your items fit inside your bag.

• an image of the Goddess or God
• a stone (earth)
• a feather (air)
• a shell (water)
• a small candle (fire)
• a vial of blessed holy water
• a bottle of Protection Potion
• crystals and stones charged with intent
• small portion of incense

You may bless your bag by passing each tool through incense smoke, such as“Power Incense” or “Witches’ Magick Incense” and then sprinkling it with blessed holy water, while stating aloud,

 “Blessed little bag, magick be, filled with light, and harmony, I charge this tool with magickal might, to aid me in my witchery both day and night. So mote it be!”
